I am passionate about animals and interested in their personalities. I grew up surrounded by many different kinds of animals, and grew to have a fondness for birds. I show my love for animals through my art by bringing out their personalities. I also like to explore with textures and really build up the feeling of fur and feathers.

Oil painting, combination of photos assignment. I love painting birds and animals, and giving them personality.

This is an oil painting I did illustrating the process of egg creation in hens as well as combining the skeletal structure in a further exploration in my interest in birds.

I love painting and drawing our farm animals, and I was playing with perspective and experimenting with scenes for illustrating my book. This painting is a combination of acrylic and oil pastels.

Oil painting. An assignment I did for painting class, it was a series painting of illustrating Beauty and the Beast. Since I'm fascinated with birds I decided to pick a beautiful bird and an ugly bird to paint.

Oil painting. The beast in the series of Beauty and the Beast. I felt a vulture was the ugliest of birds, and I tried to bring in a lot of texture and personality into this piece.

An installation I did, combining acrylic paint and watercolors. I wanted to express how I feel as if I'm a migrant bird between my college and home, so I painted birds that are indigenous to my college and home area and traced the route I travel to and from college as well as marking towns that I have made memories in along the way.

This is part of a series, I painted an already existing photograph as closely as I could and in the second painting I abstracted the image.

This is my first attempt at abstract painting and I played with pattern and texture to make it the focal point of the painting.

I used watercolor and oil pastels in this piece, and played with animals and their skeletal structures.

I made this painting for my Grandmother's birthday. She loves angels, and collects any and all angel trinkets. I wanted to try a different style of painting than I usually do, and wanted to give her a tasteful and lovely depiction of an angel.

A watercolor study I did exploring my interest further in animals and their skeletal structures, I played with making it look like an "x-ray" feel.

This painting was created using a variety of acrylic mediums and building of layers. I created microorganisms down to the atom level that I imagined the bird would be pecking at on the ground. I painted them in an abstract way.

I explored animal metaphors and using watercolor, I illustrated "crow's feet."
